I have a 10 year old daughter named Livie who was diagnosed 4 years ago with moyamoya and has had 3 surgeries for the moyamoya. Now she is having problems with high blood pressure, daily coughing, hives, kidney& lung problems. Does anyone have any issues with this or any other problems that seem to go with moyamoya? I am desprate for help!!!

My 3.5 year old had surgery for moyamoya last November. He also has renal artery stenosis (RAS - a narrowing of an artery entering his kidney) which causes high blood pressure. We assume the conditions are related, apparently a certain percentage of moyamoya patients also have RAS. He is on blood pressure meds right now, and will likely have the RAS taken care of via surgery in the future.
I have not heard of the hives, itching, or other problems being related to moyamoya.

Welcome to the family. I am sorry to hear you daughter is going though those things. I have unilaterial MM and I am ~7 years post op. I only have evey once and a while migraines that are related directly to my MM. Ohter than that I am very healthy. I hope you fins some answers. I would have your general practicioner and your nurologest talk about all her issues and see if there is a solution.

After post-op for me I had hives and itching due to the medication they had me on, it was Phenytoin, also currently on Atenolol for Hypertension which causes dry coughs on occasion.
