Starting to think about my 3 year check up at Stanford...Had my surgery Jan. 09...Went back for 6 month check up July 09....My insurance originally denied my surgery...had HMO....live in CT and they wanted me to have surgury closer to CT...Fought them and within 48 hours had it covered....My husband's company has changed insurance companies every year since then and I am worried that the company we are with now will deny my 3 year checkup.....I so want to go back to Stanford and have all the tests there and have peace of mind hearing direct from them that everything looks good....Has anyone dealt with this type of situation in the past and have any pointers to pass my way?  It is group insurance, so we never have a choice....I was hoping I would have a leg to stand on since I had my surgery and my first checkup there.....Any ideas

Hi Gretchen,  I don't have any answers about the insurance.  However, we went to our surgeon for my daughters first re-check.  After that we had the CT-Angio done locally and had the results sent to her surgeon to look at.  If your insurance denies letting you go to Stanford you might look into that as an option.  Good luck!

Thank you for the reply......I have been doing exactly that for the past years.....but I would really like to go back to Stanford for the whole week of testing....They do way more than just the CT Angiogram that I have here in Connecticut every year...Here's hoping.... :)
