Hi All

I'm about to try and convince my medical insurance to scan my wife, my son and myself to check for moyamoya (paranoid a little? ;D).

I need to go into battle with as much ammunition as possible. Does anyone have any documentation, or links, to any medical investigations into the subject of a familial link with the disease?

Please let me know what you know.

Hi Mark...good to see you on here again! Here is the link for the presentation we saw last month on the genetic testing that was been done at the Univ. of Texas. You might be able to get some information from it.

Hi!

I went through one of the Direct to Consumer gene tests. I have a SNP which predisposes me: rs6565681 A:A

The test was only $300. I used the co called 23 and Me, but there are a few others. My kids do not have both high risk alleles.
