Title: Agent Orange
Post by ariannasmommy on May 27th, 2004 at 6:15pm
This may seem like kicking around an old bucket, but does anyone here have family members who were exposed to agent orange?
So far, my sister in laws heart defect has been linked as well as a possible link of my husbands diabetes.  They are currently researching to see if my daughter's spina bifida is linked and I just recieved a letter asking if I had researched the possiblility of a MM link.
So, I turn to the ones who are the experts.
Any agent orange in your families?

How would you know if you were exposed?

Hi,

That's actually quite interesting. I am a Vietnamese-American whose family,  including mother and father, were in Vietnam during the war. They left in 75, so there is quite a possibility they were exposed. Let me know if you hear something.

Thanks for asking the whole board,
Connie

You would have had to had someone, parent or grandparent, who was in Vietnam during the use of Agent Orange.  There has been a lot study that has proven health problems and genetic anomolies in the first generation after exposure.
Study is still ongoing as to second generation.

I'm late to the discussion! My husband has Moyamoya and was  "Blue Water Navy", meaning he served aboard ship and was likely exposed to agent orange through contact with the seawater that was distilled for drinking, showering and cooking. In addition to the he was aviation ordinance and so he was in direct contact with the aircraft. His daughter has M.S.
