Title: Tsunami
Post by Annica on Jan 4th, 2005 at 10:50am
Just a short notice to ask you to send a thought to all those people that died, lost loved ones, their homes or practically their entire life by the huge tsunami on Dec 26th in Southeast Asia. More than 150 000 people were killed.
Since its a very popular vacationarea among many many Europeans, several thousands of them were tourists on Chrismasvacation. Happy and healthy one second and gone the other. As always in natural disasters  the children were affected realy bad. So tragical and it really reminds you of how fragile life is, doesn´t it?
So take care of each other, cease (sp?) the day and worship life, you never know how long it lasts :-* :'(

Hugs,

Annica

Hi Lilian!

Pleased to hear from you! Yes, I know there are a lot of fundraisings for the victims of the tsunami and that is good! There has been several in Sweden too. We are the country outside Asia itself that has suffered the biggest loss from the Tsunami. More than 2000, maybe as much as 3000 Swedes are dead or missing from it so the News is full of it all day long. Everybody lost someone or knows someone who lost someone.
When the schools start on Monday after Christmasholidays there will be many empty places after dead or missing children. Many children had to go home without their parents or parts of the family. Horrible to imagine, huh?
But of course the people living in the countries around the Ocean of India are so much worse off than we are, many many people has absolutely NOTHING left, not even a relative and they really need all the help they can get.
Thanks for the word!

Take care,

Annica
