What about NYC???  Tons to do there and I love it there!!!!  NYC on New Year's Eve??  LOL.....just kidding!  Something to think about though for NYC.  I would be up for that.

    Hi Michelle,  I was thinking more along the lines of staying over somewhere one night with dinner and breakfast the next morning,  For that NYC is super expensive but if you know of a place let us know.  
     :oAs far as new years eve ::) I don't do well in crowds since my stroke. :'(

    It will take some fast work but possibly something in NYC around Christmas could work.

If we don't want to rush it, How about Atlantic City? It's a great place all year with plenty to do ;;D

    Another great place is Cape May,  I know a nice motel that has great off season rates.  Cape may is beautiful around the holidays with all of the decorated victorian homes.

How about Lambertville NJ or New hope Pa. two more great places.

I was thinking exactly along the same lines.  I had planned to put a note out after the holidays (I figured not everyone will be around during the holidays, or some will be having family gatherings, etc) so I was thinking mid January would be a good time.  What do you think?

I think an over night in Atlantic City is a good idea.  I agree that NYC would be super expensive.  Baltimore or Philly or Boston might be decent ideas too.  Tom, I don't know anything about the places you suggested, but I'm up for that too.  

I'm really up for anything (any reason to party) but I propose the date of January 15-16 2006 (this is actually Martin Luther King holiday weekend, so it might be convenient for some to stay an extra day if they have the day off).  

Let me know what you all think!  Let's get the ball rollin'!  

BTW, can we invite Dr. Dodd?  I'm sure he could use a trip to the North East.  ;)   [smiley=crackup.gif]

This is all great!  If we choose Atlantic City, my parents have a house there (well, in Margate, but 5 minute drive to AC).  It's a small house, so it really depends on how many people will attend, but I can at least house a few....with my parent's permission, of course!!  

I think the date is great too...it may be best to keep it after the holidays (I celebrate Hanukkah and that starts Christmas day).  

(I will always welcome people to Philly too!)

Great idea Tom!  FYI...My family and I are planning a trip to NY (Cooperstown) for the 4th of July weekend next year.  I'm not quite sure where the heck Cooperstown is exactly located on the map, but if it's near any of you, I'd really like to meet up with anyone in the area!  :D  
My  11-yr old son's baseball team will be playing in a bb tournament there....  ;)

Tom/Trina........Love the ideas of Cape May/Atlantic City/coast of NJ area.  All great ideas!  The dates are perfect that have been suggested.  Sounds really good to me.  Trina....if you go....maybe we can room together.  What do you think?  I doubt Shane will be able to come, but I can sure try.  Shari could room with us, too.  

If anyone doesn't object, I would love to plan it unless someone else wants to.  Let me know.

But I have another great place.  Now I know how intelligent and sophisticated we East Coast oyamoyaers are 8) So a natural for us would be the Hayatt in Princeton NJ.  The hotel is beautiful and the town is charming and quaint with lots of great shops and resturants.  No crowds and if you've never been there we can walk around a beautiful Ivy league campus  and if you like, catch a Princeton Hockey game. ;;D

So how about that one?  Post and let us know.  I'll call The Hayatt and get some prices.
