I just got back from surgery with Dr Steinberg and his wonderful staff. I'm new looking for a local neurologist, who knows about Moyamoya and/or is somehow affilliated with Stanford. I live on Long Island in the Town of Huntington. Can anyone recommend a Dr? Are there any others in the Moyamoya community on LI? Love to hear from you.

Hi Mei-Mei, I was diagnosed with MM about 4 years ago at Good Samaritian hospital (West Islip). At first they thought I had MS but then did more research. After I came back home from Stanford we went to LIJ but it was really no help. My suggestion is to keep going back to Stanford for your checkups and know that you are not alone. I hope that answered your question :)

I would agree completely, I just had my surgery here in Stanford last Tuesday. I would completely suggest for you to continue to visit Dr. Steinberg's team for any and all future visits, as I will because I completely trust the expertise in Moyamoya. They are absolutely the best!
