Title: Aspirin therapy question for any Australian MM
Post by Jane oznva on Nov 4th, 2013 at 5:02pm
Our son is on lifelong "Baby Aspirin" chewable 81mg daily, since his surgeon in July this year.  I have just heard from family members back in Australia that this dosage of Aspirin is not available back home.  Can anyone who lives in Australia and has MM confirm this for me?  What is the lowest dose Aspirin available?  We will be having a review before leaving the USA to return to Australia mid December, so I would like to know what dosage is currently being recommended in Australia so I can ask our specialist what he advises.  Many thanks in advance.

We are in Australia. My daughter has unilateral moyamoya and takes 100mg of aspirin daily. I checked one of the largest online chemists and there doesn't seem to be an 81mg chewable tablet available here.
Hope that helps.

Thank you very much for your reply and investigating for me.  I will take your information to our Neurosurgeon and presume he will recommend the higher dose.
Thanks again. Cheers.

My son is 17 yrs post stroke & still takes 1/2 baby aspirin. (tho he's grown considerably, the dr says as long as it's working, no need to chg the dosage).  we cut the 81mg in 1/2. you could probably do the same w. other dosages. ck w/ your dr.
