Title: Hemorrhagic stroke caused by Moyamoya
Post by Cynthia on Feb 13th, 2021 at 3:07pm
My sister had a hemorrhagic stroke caused by Moyamoya and has been in the ICU since Feb. 1.  She is being treated at Little Company of Mary in Torrance, CA. She had a brain bleed in the left side of her brain (deep) so they couldn't do surgery.  We are told the bleed lasted a short amount of time and there is no new blood since Feb 1. She has an EVT (drain), is on a ventilator and is currently unconscious.  I want to know if there is anyone out there that had a similar experience, how long they spent unconscious before "waking up" and whether they were able to pursue Moyamoya bypass surgery after becoming conscious.

I had a hemorrhagic stroke on the left side as well. January 19. My surgery was March 8. In-direct and direct surgery. When I was in the hospital at first for the stroke my husband and son told me I would only wake to vomit and go right back under for 4 days. Almost 4 months later and 2 months after surgery, I still have episodes during the day where I’m tired, weak, feel like I’m half asleep, have slight vision problems and feel a tiny bit loopy. I hope this changes.
