Linda Celebrates her birthday (LA)
Feb 28th, 2005 at 4:56pm

Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Tomorrow is my birthday and I am delighted to be alive and sharing this with you all. I really want to thank everyone for their information and support.  Ok, this sounds like the Academy Awards, but i couldn't do it without my husband, friends, family and the mm community. MM.com didn't exist when I began this trip and I felt so alone.
I stroked severely when I was 49 so on my 50th I felt like I'd been given another shot at life. Shortly after I stroked again but by then I was hooked up with Steinberg and a great set of doctors in my hometown.
I've never regained my 'old self' but I am happy to be finding out about my new self, to be in sharing touch with other mm'ers (like Connie and Hillary), and in just being alive. So now as I reach 55 I'm a happy camper.

I hope many of you can also find these joys. That would be the best gift ever.

Happy Birthday Linda!

My very best wishes for a special Happy Birthday Linda!! I'm so tickled to hear from you and know you're doing well.

The new self or life of which you speak, is how I explain "grace". A touch of truth that lets you see the world in a new way--it's a gift that can only be felt when you're open enough to except it. So God bless ya girlfriend!! Smiley

Thanks so much, Linda, for the glimpse into your world!  Mar is right, and her explanation of grace is wonderful.  We already know that going through mm gives those "blessed" with it and their families a different perspective on life.  It is truly a whole new world, isn't it?

I wish you the happiest of birthdays!

Hugs from California,
Jill

Linda I know what you're talking about. When Tyler went through his stroke, diagnoses and surgeries, it gave me a whole new attitude towards life too. He was so young to learn that lesson yet old enough to realize that he had a new leash on life.
I hope you have a wonderful birthday and many more!
