hello everyone!
Alice just did the 2nd one at Stanford on 9/11/07 on her 6th birthday.  The surgery went pretty good said Dr. Steinberg.  The first one was EDAS and 2nd one he did with direct and indirect .   We came at 6:00 a.m. and saw Alice at 4:00 p.m. The time goes so slow when we were in the waiting room just wanted to hear that  the surgery went good.   The next day 9/12/07, two very bad  episodes of seizures.  very bad..... Sad
Today, we are still in ICU.  She ate breakfast..and much much better than yesterday.. Thank you for your prays. Thank you Dr. Steinberg & staffs.

Thank you for the update. We were right there with you in spirit and had you all in our thoughts and prayers. I know the waiting is tougher on the family then the patient sometimes, but hang in there, with Dr. steinberg and staff, she’s in the best hands on earth, IMO.

Give Alice a big hug from her MM family.Smiley

Please keep us updated.

We were discharged from hospital.  Alice is doing great except her complaint about her cheek and neck pain on right side time to time.  I mean after the big surgery of course she feels pain other than that she is doing much much better.  We are trying to give her nutritional food but, kid,,, just trying....

She wants to do all the activities, riding bike, swimming, running, jumping.  I guess she feels nothing but  wanna have fun which makes me feel much better.  That means she doesn't feel any pain.  But,  we need to take easy on everything.  Here is the few pictures i will send to Mr. DJ to put on the site.  We have an appointment on 9/19/07 and wish to take few pictures with Dr. Steinberg, Dr. Lin, Ms. Teresa, Ms. Jill if we could.  Without their hand, I can't see Alice's smile today.

Thank you again....

Isn't it great how kids just jump up and go. I think us parents should be given something to ease the stress we have to endure. Heck, the kids sleep through it then zoom they are back on the run and we are just trying to keep up with them...LOL

Glad to hear things are going so well!

Hello,

Yesterday was her 1st day of school after 2nd surgery. (1st grade)  She wanted to go school badly.  In the PE class, she was upset about not be able to play with the ball game like other classmates were playing.  Other than that she was catching up quite well.  I was with her from beginning to end in the classroom doing volunteer work.

Since Wednesday was ended 1:15p.m., we went home with lots of energy.  However,

When we were trying to put her sleep at 9:30 p.m., she said she missed her daddy and started crying with no reason.  Daddy was in living room.  There was TIA.  After 2nd surgery, this is 2nd time. About 10 minites, she cried, and laughed. But no limpness was involved and unknown language spoke.  Her lips were just about to twisted but not much.   CryThis one was lighter than what we have been observed her before .  But still, we were so worried couldn't sleep all through night.  Is she too early to go school?  She must be tired of new circumstances.  Does anybody has this kind of TIA after 2nd surgery?   Are they doing ok at school?  I am worrying if she cries at school and TIA what is going to happen.   How long does it take to get seizure-free and TIA-free stage?   Smiley Smiley

Shall I call Dr. about this TIA?
What shall I do?
