Headaches question...
Oct 23rd, 2007 at 12:24am

I'm unpatiently waiting for my follow up appointment on Monday to see if I do indeed have MM. My angiogram indicated it and they sent me for another CT with contrast dye and I've been waiting to see the specialst since. I had a question regarding my headaches and wondered if others had the same problems or whether mine are caused by migraines or ?
I get alot of pressure in teh top of my head on the right side with and without my headaches but not all the time. (The artery I have that is almost blocked is on the right side so I'm assuming its a blood flow issue but I'm no doctor?  Smiley ) I also on occasion get this pressure and immediate heachache when I lean down or with physical activity such as today when I was raking leaves.  Does or has anyone else had these problems with their headaches? I am going to mention them to my specialist on Monday but wondered if this could be a common problem or is completely unrelated? Thank you in advance.  Beck

Headaches are a definite and common symptom of MMD. Some patients may have TIA’s, tingling, numbness, fatigue, fogginess, confusion, imbalance, etc. This is all due to the body having such a hard time getting the proper blood around your brain. Things move much slower with MM.

You’re right to listen to your body Beck, go with it. If you do have MM, please learn all you can about it. Arm yourself with knowledge! Be aggressive about your care and ask questions. MM is a progressive disease, it gets worse over time, so if your doctors delay with your treatment, please seek a second opinion. It’s very wise if you have this rare disease. Not all doctors have experience treating MM.

Good luck! Keep us posted.

Mar

Hi Mar,
Thanks for your response. Yes, I have the numbness, tingling, get unbalanced etc too.  That's what lead to the intial MRI, CT's and angiogram which indicated MM.
So, I'm hoping for an official yes or no on Monday and not another referral to another doctor but we'll see I guess. Thank you again,
Beck

Yes, I get that even after surgery.  If you've read my other posts, I get headaches for everything. Exercise and weather, etc.  Good luck! Know you're not alone and that the process can be ever so slow.  Keep strong.
