Hi Jacquie,

I’m so sorry to hear the problems you’ve been having. I wish I had some answers for you, but we would have to get some specifics from you before we could give you any advice or say whether your problems may be MM related or not. Have you had any surgery for your MM?? If not, you need to get to another doctor and get a second opinion. Who is your doctor or doctors?

There are some wonderful people here who will be there for you Jacquie, with support, information and friendship. You are not alone. We would just need a little more information from you first. From what you’ve explained so far, vomiting 10-15 times and passing out daily certainly is not normal and very serious. You need to get to the bottom of it ASAP, but that could be caused from so many other things, so please give us a bit more information, then perhaps we can help in some way.

Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Mar

Hi Jacquie and welcome the Moyamoya family!

You should not be scared but I certainly understand why you are scared.  Your symptoms are extreme and not normal.

I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing such extreme symptoms with no relief.  Your symptoms are extreme and in my opinion, require immediate medical attention. How long has this vomiting and fainting been going on? If you are not getting any relief from your symptoms, I'd be looking for another opinion now.  It's just not normal to be experieincing such symptoms with no explanation or relief.  Do you have other symptoms? Have you sought medical attention for your vomiting and fainting?

Mar is right in that vomiting 10-15 times a day is NOT NORMAL regardless of the cause and passing out 5-10 times a week is NOT NORMAL by any stretch of the imagination.  I am not a clinician but common sense tells me you need IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION. Have you been to the emergency room lately?  If not, personally, I'd be knocking on their door if you are not getting anywhere by simply communicating with a doctor or you are getting no relief from your symptoms. Personally, I can't imagine any doctor ignoring such symptoms without some type of explanation.

That amount of vomiting can cause dehydration quickly which can lead to other more serious complications. Again, I'm not a clinician but that heart rate is too high in my opinion regardless of the cause.  Again, it is like Mar mentioned, the vomiting and fainting can be caused by so many things but the fact you have been diagnosed with Moyamoya and have had several strokes and blood clots and not knowing what treatment if any, you have had pertaining to your Moyamoya and apparently no relief or explanation for the vomiting and fainting is enough for me to say get medical help and get another opinion ASAP.

I would like to know you have sought medical attention quickly and have an explanation for the extreme vomiting and fainting.

Please keep us posted.

Hugs,

Lore

Hi Jacquie,
What you are describing doen't sound normal. I would get a second opinion ASAP!!! I would keep surching for an answer I have never hurd of a stomach virus causing people to pass out or vomit that much. Is your nurologest doing something about your strokes and blood clots? Are you on Blood pressure medicens?  You and your children will be in my prayers. I hope you find an answer. Donot  give up untill you do!

vomiting can be cause by bleeding in the brain, but if yours was related to that then you would know about it as it frickin hurts... like nothing else on earth...

passing out can be caused by constricted bloodflow in the back of the brain, but that is fairly rare and if it was being caused by this then you'd probably also know as you might not come-round so quickly...

and yes a good question was have you had any surgeries?
