Low Blood Flow??
Mar 31st, 2008 at 12:12pm

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has this particular issue. It has been almost 2 yrs. since I had surgery on my right side. The left side is ok. I recently had a Doppler and a PET Scan done because I am still getting the paralysis. I am also finding that I am nausea a lot of the time. The tests showed that I still have an abnormality on the right side and that it is mile that I do not need anotehr surgery. Yeah:D  There is low blood flow over there. They told me that it is a variant of MoyaMoya. Will this stay the way it is or will it get worse. Can anyone help me Thank you all.

It’s hard to answer certain questions sometimes because every MM case is different due to each person’s personal specifics involved. You say that you had surgery on one side, but still have low blood flow on that side and continued paralysis after 2 years?? That makes me wonder if the surgery was successful in giving you the proper blood flow you need. As far as a variant of MM, I have no idea about that; I only know that if I continued with symptoms after 2 years, I’d get a second opinion and have further tests done with an experienced MM specialist. We hear doctors say a lot of things and many times they’re very wrong. There may be another surgical approach that could help you. The safest and smartest thing to do when in doubt is to send copies of your films and records to a MM expert. If an expert agrees, then and only then would I feel safe knowing what this disease is capable of if not treated correctly.

Thanks Mar. My surgeon knows a lot about MM. If it gets worse I will obviously let them know. We wanted to get a 2nd opinion but the Dr. I was going to see does not see patients after 35 and they told me not to see another surgeon. I am confident in their decision. I was just wondering if anyone else had or is having these symptoms. I will keep in touch and thank you again.
