News Article about Moyamoya Disease
Apr 9th, 2008 at 7:00pm

Hi all -
A reporter for the local newspaper heard about my Moyamoya and asked to interview me for an article. It came out in today's (April 9th) paper. It's mostly accurate, though I sure don't plan to return to Stanford for ongoing treatments, just very infrequent checkups. The newpaper is published on-line at www.southwhidbeyrecord.com. The title is "Langley woman hit with rare brain disease". My hope is that the information might help to make the search for help a little easier and a whole lot quicker for someone else.

PS  Tommy is doing much better yesterday and today!  We have our appointment at 11am.  Can't wait to sleep in his own bed.

Hi Carol,
Thanks for sharing the good news about Tommy. Once he starts getting a good nights sleep, he'll bounce back quicker than you'd imagine possible. I'm sure you'll be glad to be hugging your own pillow again too.  Smiley
A long-time customer of mine came into the shop today after reading the article. She said that she had had episodes of numbness and tingling and had been ignoring it. After we talked she said she's going to make an appointment with her doctor. So, maybe it's already done some good.

Thanks, Jill. Can't believe the number of folks who've come by to say hi after reading the article. They all have stories of their own to share.
My folks and I are looking forward to seeing you and Campbell again and meeting that remarkable daughter of yours.

Mar, I can't begin to tell you how helpful your posts have been to me. It will be so great to finally meet you in person - Las Vegas, here we come!!! 8)
