Gratitude - Happy Thanksgiving to all of us!
Nov 25th, 2008 at 8:21pm

My friend just sent this to me. It rings so true for me and I wanted to share it with you.

“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.”
(Melodie Beattie)

Happy Thanksgiving,
Kim

Hi Jill,
Hope you and Campbell and Tara are able to share this wonderful day together. I'll pass your Thanksgiving tidings on to Mom an Dad as soon as they wake. Turkey has to hit the oven by 8:30, so Mom should... ooops there she is now. She says you're a very sweet and wonderful woman and wishes you a very happy thanksgiving day. I ditto that.
Kim

Hi Linda,
If not for Moyamoya, I would not have met you and Jack and so many other special, wonderful people. For that I am thankful too. Shared the wonderful article of you and your appointment to the board with my family. You're amazing! Lots of turkey and pumpkin pie and today, don't hold the whipped cream. Need to get to the kitchen to help Mom with the turkey. Love to both you and Jack,
Kim

Kim~

I loved the quote from Melodie Beattie! So I goggled her and am delighted to find so many books she's written- Helpful books with positive attitude, etc... I'm going to base my next class at school on the quote you sent.

The funny/ironic part is :  Two of her books are out-of-print
A Reason To Live
A Promise Of Sanity

That those two would be out-of-print hit my funny bone. I'd think they'd be her 'standard' sellers!

Just thought I'd share a quirky chuckle!
ENJOY

Linda

Hi Linda,
That is too funny. Smiley No longer in print because we're all sane and living well? Think her publisher goofed. Would love to be able to attend your class - when will be teaching it?

Kim  and everyone!

Another thing /opportunity that I'm grateful for is
teaching/volunteering at the Eureka City Schools class for Traumatically Brain Injured on Tuesday afternoons for an hour.

I began attending 3 days a week after my strokes. It was perfect because I got to relate to others that had very similar brain glitches -- and glitches is the cute word for major damage. I love the school but have progressed (see 'My Stroke of Insight' !!!!!  YES we loved it!) and also have too much family and other stuff that demands my attention. like the TV set! joke joke joke.Traveling to the Northwest!!!! and beyond....

Anyway I write up lesson plans, etc... I enjoy it.and I adore my classmates.
