My daughter had her surgeries in March and June of 2008.  She is now almost 8 yrs old.  She is still having migraines and missing a lot of school in the afternoons. I can't work so the only income i have is the child support.  Can i get disability or SSI for her?

I am in Texas. I have been doing ok but her medications are costing more now.

I would think you should be able to get Medicaid for her meds. Good Luck!

We live in Oklahoma and my son has been on SSI for 2 years for different reasons.  He has Asperger's Syndrome.  There are programs available.

I joined this group because just over 2 weeks ago, my mom was taken to the hospital unrepsonsive.  We thought that it was her blood sugar. It wasn't.  She suffered a brain bleed . . . because of the MoyaMoya disease.  She was just diagnosed with it yesterday.  She had a permanent shunt placed Thursday and is somewhat back to normal, yet she isn't the same.

I have been a nurse for 15+ years and I have never heard of this before.  My mom has been my dads' caretaker since 1998 when he had a brain tumor taken out.  Now, we aren't sure what she is going to be like when she comes home and we are a little lost.  She is 61 years old.

I have started the SSI/social security application . . .she will be 62 in July.  I just wish we knew what to expect . . . .could someone help me with this?
