Three Years Today and a Bright Future
Nov 7th, 2010 at 2:18pm

It's three years today since I put my family through the harrowing experience of my brain surgeries at Stanford.

This is a day we celebrate every year. My son, David insisted he take the shop today so that I can do whatever gives me pleasure - let's see, that would be gardening today! This is a day when I give thanks to God for creating such talented people as Dr. Steinberg and his wonderful staff. My thanks to all of you beautiful and amazing Stanford folks.

I thought I had recoverd completely within six months of my surgeries, but in retrospect I find every year I see improvement in my thinking and performance. It's only in the past six months that I've begun to make real progress with my business. ANd only in the past month have I found that the fingers of my left hand are no longer weak.

People with amazing ideas have been literally walking through the doors to my shop sharing with me their thoughts and experiencees regarding health and well-being. I am listening and taking their advice. They've brought to me daily meditation, a Hypnotism for Weight Loss class, Isagenix a nutrional food source, Commanding Wealth by Assara Lovejoy, and Dr. Jangarrd a local naturopath who has prescribed nutritional supplements that have restored my energy. I always believed Whidbey Island to be a magical and healing place, I'm learning that much of this emmantes from the special people who've chosen to make their home here.

Love and best wishes to all my moyamoya family,
Kim

Thanks, Jennifer. Treated myself to my favorite beet salad at a restaurant here in town then spent the remainder of the day in the garden next to my shop - sheer joy and good exercise to boot! Best wishes to you too.

Hey Kim

I SO agree with what Mark said . . . that little interjection of hope . . . what incredibly important words to those of us touched by this disease.

You've touched the lives of a lot of people with your communications and sharing of experiences, Kim.  Sharing your feelings through the telling of your 3 year anniversary celebration means everything to those who have walked your road, and to those who will walk your road in the future.  Though the road's not an easy one, you offer a glimmer of hope when it's sometimes hard to find.

Thank you for being who you are . . . and I'm honored to call you my friend.
