Wait time for insurance

Hi everyone. I was diagnosed just five days ago by Dr Steinberg. He said that I need the STA-MCA bypass as soon as possible. We are waiting for the insurance to approve so I can travel to Stanford for the surgery. For those of you who traveled to Stanford for treatment, how long did it take your insurance company to accept? Waiting, for me, is the hardest part. Thanks.

I realize this is an old post.  Regardless, do not wait for insurance to provide an authorization. Call them directly, tell them you are at risk for a stroke, at any moment, and get an emergency authorization.
