This is completely my personal feeling, but if it were me in your situation, I would contact Stanford for a second opinion.

The difference between the EDAS and STA-MCA surgeries is that the EDAS can take 6 months to 1 year to grow an adequate blood supply to the brain. With the STA-MCA surgery, the benefits are IMMEDIATE! Most say EDAS is a very good option for children because their bodies are growing rapidly but STA-MCA is a better option for adults. It is exactly the reason I (as an adult) chose the STA-MCA when faced with the decision.

I had several very small TIA's for about a week after each surgery, but nothing since!
