Hi Kevin!!

You're right, we did have that conversation, and what a rough road getting here too, but we did it. Oh, and BTW... we made that huge bet, remember? ..lol..  just kidding. Thanks Kev, I’m so tickled I can hardly stand it. Just 3 days—5 hours—18 minutes to go.

Go Steelers!!

Mar,

We have plenty of room here if you can make the trip to Detroit.  We are for the Steelers also.  My nieces attended Miami of Ohio -- So we have been watching Ben for a while.

Thank you Janice, bless your heart! I wish I knew that last week though; I might have taken you up on it. Ron & I could have gotten 2 (outrageously expensive) tickets, but we couldn’t find a decent place to stay anywhere at the last minute like that. I wanted to go soooooooo bad at any cost, cuz I don’t know when I’ll ever get this chance again. I was half tempted to go for it and sleep in the car, but I figured, I’m getting too old for that kind a trip, (I’m not young, like I was at “Woodstock” LOL) and didn’t know the bad areas of Detroit either, so I turned ‘em down. I never once remembered that you lived there, dagnabit!!! Oh well, but maybe it’s for my own good, cuz if the Steelers win…WOW!! I would have partied and prolly would have gotten arrested…lol.

I’m so excited Janice, I can’t even tell you!! All my family from Pittsburgh keeps calling me every single day and telling me that Detroit is turning “Black and Gold” and looks more like Pittsburgh there every day and it’s getting me all psyched up… is it? The terrible towels and the Steel City pride is in Detroit! Go Steelers!!

Thanks Janice, you're a sweetheart!!!

Love ya!

Mar,

This city is electrified.   There are so many Steeler fans here -- it is very exciting. There are so many things to do in the city and there are so many people.  I really wish that you were able to be here.

Mar and Janice,

GO STEELERS!!!!!!!

My husband and son are BIG Steelers fans. They have been to Three Rivers for play offs so you can only imagine what our day will be like today. Going to our son's house for a Super Bowl party. I get to play with our two granddaughters Smiley I will watch the game as I want to see "The Bus" go out with a Super Bowl win.

Wish I could be in Detroit to see the STEELERS WIN! Smiley I spent many a summer in Detroit working at our grandparents grocery store. It would be a two-fold walk down memory lane. lol

Enjoy the game!

Hugs, Smiley

Lore,

Where was your grandparents store?  We are 25 miles north of Detroit.  They had one inch.   We had 5 inches.  Our son 40 miles from city had 10 inches.  Glad the snow stayed north.

GO STEELERS!!!!

Hi Janice,

Our grandparents were from Germany. They owned a grocery store off Gratiot Ave. in a German settlement. I know Gratiot runs a long way. I know where the store was by landmarks but can't remember the names of the streets to direct you there. They died in the 70's and it has been a long time since I have been back (8 years). I also had an aunt and uncle, now deceased, that lived in Hamtramck. My aunt Helen was of Polish decent. I did go back to Hamtramck and was absolutely shocked. That used to be a very nice neighborhood at one time. In fact, I remember the flowers and it reminded me a lot like Frankenmuth. But oh my, has it changed. We had another aunt and cousin who lived in Farmington.

WOW! 10 inches of snow. We got about 4 inches of snow. It's funny how that storm dropped snow. Cleveland usually gets a lot of snow because they are in the snow belt but they only got about an inch. We are north of Columbus. In fact, I live only about 60 miles from Findlay where Ben is from. It has been media hipe around Findlay this past week. It is nice to see Ben get this attention. Little Findlay Ohio is a bit overwhelmed from it all. Nonetheless, it's nice to put them on the map.lol

Go Steelers!!!

Hi Lore,

There has been a lot going on in Hamtramck.  But hopefully it will be on the road to where it once was.  Let me kow if you are ever in the area again.

Detroit had a great time with the Super Bowl.  I wonder if Mar survived?  She is probably sleeping in after the late game.

Well, we did it Janice and Lore! The Steelers are going to Disney World! I can’t even express to ya how happy I am! I was a wreck during the game, but feeling great now that we’re world CHAMPIONS. I’m trying to recuperate from this hang over this morning though…lol..The only thing that would have been better would be to be back home in Pittsburgh to celebrate right now. Everyone here had to go to work today and went to bed shortly after the game, but I would bet you anything in Pittsburgh & Detroit, they’re still celebrating, and wow, to only be a part of that. Did you see all those Steeler fans in Detroit?? That was totally awesome!

Yo Kevin, we did it!!! One for the thumb! Maybe next year your Browns (??) Good Luck Buddy!

Janice,

I'm glad Hamtramck is getting a face lift. I hope they restore it to its colorful beauty.

When I go to Michigan next, I'll look you up.

We have a niece at U of M. Her family lives in Wisconsin. So hopefully, we'll get to Michigan sometime this year either in the late spring or early summer.

Mar,

GO STEELERS!!!! What a game! Was it really a game? lol! AND, What happened to Ben after the game? I never saw him after the game. Did he run off to all the endorsement offers or did he run back to Findlay Ohio?lol

I'm soooo happy for the Bus. What a great way to go out. I hate to see him leave the Steelers but I understand it takes him 3 hours or more in the morning just to get limber and move. Ouch!!!

I liked all the commercials. Too many favorites to mention. Yes, I would have loved to have been in Detroit or Pittsburgh partying. All I saw in Detroit was black and yellow Terrible Towels. That wasn't snow, it was the yellow lint from all the towels! lol.

We had quite a few folks who didn't make it to work Monday and the ones who did make it where movin' kinda slow if ya know what I mean. lol

Don't know about Iron City Beer but my husband and son were drinking Rolling Rock!! lol

Hugs,

Lore
