I don't get a lot of time to post but I read everyday.I just love it here.
Well Kathleen is doing great! She never stops amazing me.Even after 4 yrs she still makes visible progress. She can now jump and get both feet off the ground,She's working on standing on a "rocker board" and can let go and stand for a few seconds, she wears her AFO and SMO which help her walking, would you believe she's had the new AFO for only about 6 months and she may outgrow it by our next visit with the Physiotrist??? He aslo said she wil most likely need a full leg brace in a year or 2.She's just too little to handle the weight of one yet.Her left hand and arm are still getting strong it's very very slow but she's still working on it.We do the E-Stim still. She's doing amazing in school.Just yesterday her aid told me she read a Clifford book and did a worksheet on it all by herself, then she did a math sheet on fractions and did that independently too!! Kathleen was so proud of herselef but not nearly as proud as I was. This is what I wish for most in her life is INDEPENDANCE!! It makes her so happy! This is why I want her left hand to become more "helpfull" to her so badly. We still have to catheterise every 3 hrs but luckily there's no changes in her Kidneys it seems it's keeping them healthy. The bad news is the Doc is leaning toward this being a permenant thing for her.Her bladder shows no contractions when filled.but it could be worse I guess. We're working on getting Kathleen's football video onto our local Down Syndrome web site,I'll let you know if we get it soon. She sure was a star in her school after that! Thanks for reading this far I guess it turned out to be a bit of a brag. But this girl amazes me everyday.Oh yeah I almost forgot Kathleen will be 9 yrs old next month!!!! March 4th...

Mary Grace,
Thanks for the update. Never worry about bragging here, the kids deserve the reconisition (sp?) for the great way they keep working to improve.
