Kristina and Jason,

Kristina, I know I didn't get the chance to meet you while we were there, we were hoping to but knew you were in tests, we had the opportunity to meet Jason and talk with him, and glad that we did, we found out that you guys are from Texas, we will be moving there very soon, same town, we hope when things are settled that we could get together and talk one day, that would be awesome.

You both and your familys are in our prayers, stay strong, and keep on going....let us know when you can how things are going...

Hi, Hillary.  Hello Everyone.

Jason, me, and my husband, Jimmy, are right now in waiting room.  It is 6:09 right now.  They are prepping Kristina.  We will be able to go back there in about 20 minutes and stay until they wheel her to surgery.

She looks really good this a.m.  She's thirsty, though.  Jason had physical therapy yesterday and was impressed with the knowledge this therapist had.

Waiting room is a little full right now.  But these are people waiting for different types of surgeries, I'm sure.
OHHH, I did meet Mike, Debra, and Christoper yesterday in the SPECT waiting room.  Mike and Debra said they went the the other cafeteria and waited and waited for the 1:30 get-together.  There's two cafeterias here.

Everyone, please, please pray for Kristina right now.  Surgery starts in just a little while.

Love Rhonda, Jimmy(my hubby), and Jason(Stina's hubby)

Hi, again.
Kristina is in surgery right now.  It's only been less than an hour into it.  It's cold in this hosptial.  Hard to find a good signal for my Internet connection card.  Waiting room is on 2nd floor and I'm down here in a main lobby, I guess, but I get reception.

Only had tears while wheeling her away.  The wrote a big ol' black "YES" on the right side of her head.  Then another technician glued things to her head and put red Xs all throughout her scalp.  Did not give her anything until about a minute before they took her.

Please keep Kristina in your thoughts and prayers right now.  We should know something at about 3:00 CA time.  Will keep you all updated.

Hi Lori, Smiley Welcome!

I know exactly what you're going through. I couldn't be in California when Mandy was going through her surgery, and I was a wreck, but DJ went to support my family and it helped us on this end sooooo much, but as he said in his post, it was rougher on him waiting there, then going through it himself. Just hang in there girl, she's in the best hands there at Stanford, and people from all over the world are praying for her. Rhonda says you'll be there for her next surgery, so you'll know from experience all sides of it. God bless ya!

We're anxiously waiting for 3:00 to come for Rhonda's update and we're with Kristina, Rhonda and your family in spirit and in prayer.  Smiley

YES YES YES YES!!

she did GREAT!!  she is in ICU right now and jason, rhonda and jimmy were able to visit her for about 10 minutes.  they said she looked good--coloring was good, she was very coherent and observant---asked rhonda why she didn't bring her purse with her.  said that she was doing fine.  only complaint was that she is thirsty.  not just thirsty but really really really thirsty--i could picture her making everyone laugh why she said that .  we'll take that!  Smiley

Hey Lori, my sentiments exactly!! I hope one day to give Dr Steinberg the hug of his life for all he's done. What a great man, huh...he sure knows his stuff!

You did good too Sis Smiley Now you can get a good night sleep.  Smiley Please keep us posted.

Way to go Kristina and family!  You'll be back home, healthy and happy (with your dogs!) before you know it.

I find it simply amazing that both Kristina and David were just a mere month ago posting on the guest book and surgery was yet but a glimmer in their mind.  Miracles do happen!  It makes me want to cry thinking about all the happy endings that happen right here on this board!

Get well soon Kristina!

Kristina and Jason - Tara, Jillayne and I will be coming up to Stanford sometime over the weekend to find David and Angie - we'd love to meet you too.  Please leave a note with the nurses that it's ok for them to tell Tara (they know her) which room you are in (patient confidentiality restrictions).  We live in San Jose and are less than a 1/2 hour away.

Send us an e-mail through the website and we'll give you our contact info.

Good morning to all!!!
Wow, we feel really, really blessed at all the posts.  We are so lucky to have all of you as our family.  I cannot thank each and every one of you enough for all your prayers and all of your concerns.

Just spoke with Kristina, and she wants desparately now to find a computer with Intneret hookup so she can read all the posts.  That is her goal right now.  There is a computer down the hall that David has been using.  I told her about that one.  Jason is taking laptop up to her room and they will see if they can get connected actually in her room.  I also have my laptop with Sprint Intnernet hookup that will work if I have good reception, which has been my problem while in hospital waiting rooms.

Kristina is doing EXCEPTIONALLY well.  Very coherent.  Very awake.  She knows what each and every nurse is doing to her every time the nurse attends to her.
She was very excited to finally get out of ICU last night.  She wanted out of there and into a room, where she can now get up and walk the hallways and see all the flowers.  The landscaping is gorgeous.  And when you walk by the rows of flowers, you can smell them.  Very nice!

David, Angie and her mom came to see Kristina yesterday.  And me and my husband have seen them a couple of times throughout hospital.  David is walking around the hospital.  And, boy, he looks sooo good.  He and his wife and mother-in-law are so very nice and loving and caring.  It's like we've known them for 20 years.  It is nice to have another family here to talk to about all of this.  I thank God that they are here at the same time we are.

Thank you, again, Everyone, for all the prayers.  Maybe Kristina will be sending next update herself personally!!!

Talk to y'all in a bit.

Rhonda
