First, I'd like to say... welcome to our mm family and to let you know we'll all be keeping you in our thoughts and prayers during your surgery. May I ask where that will be and the Neurosurgeons' name? It may help others in the future in finding a surgeon with mm experience.
As far as your questions about running, it's been my observation and experience that it would depend on your individual situation and medical condtion and also what type of surgery you're having. Do you have to have two surgeries (for both sides) and what type of surgery are you having? Cara's mom mentioned it taking 6-12 months for the arteries to grow for adequate blood supply, that's true if you're having the in-direct surgery. (EDAS) The direct surgery (STA-MCA) you receive immediate blood supply. So alot depends before answering your questions correctly for YOU. It's been my experience though, that you can pretty much do what ever you want when you're physician says so from your follow up tests. As Sara mentioned, it's very important that you stay hydrated. We have a few posts where others in our mm family mention their own
do's and don'ts from experience, but it's always good to ask your doctor about your individual case. The more you know about mm, the more confident you'll become in making informed decisions, so it's been my rule to read all you can about it.
Take a look at our picture page and you'll see a few in our family that had surgery and how their hair looked the day after the surgery. I think it looked good compared to what must have went through their minds. Not bad at all.
Please keep us posted as soon as you can. You're in our prayers.
God bless,
Mar
