Good News!
Aug 20th, 2004 at 9:48am

Hello Everyone.

I want to share my wonderful news with all of you... I am pregnant!! Scott and I are VERY excited!

As far as MM goes, my doctor has plans for me, but nothing too major. I am due March 28, 2005! My Gyno and Nerologist are working together to make sure I will come out of this as healthy as I am now!

I feel great, and other than morning sickness, am doing just fine.

Just thought you all may like to share in this experience with me, since I know many of you have daughters with MM. (I was dx when I was 8). And some of you are possibly thinking of being mom's too.

Thank you all for being here!

Congratulations Sara and Scott!  What wonderful news - as you said, especially poignant to those of us with MM daughters . . . . .

I hope all goes well with the pregnancy.  It sounds promising knowing that your doctors are already working together!  Please keep us posted - I love happy stories!  Many blessings to all 3 of you!

Thank you so much everyone. I will probably not post often on this thread, just pertinent info. to MM and pregnancy.

My first news is that I had quite a few really bad headaches in the beginning, but now they have seemed to tapper of. I hope it stays this way for the rest of the pregancy.

Also, I have been taking Keppra (anticonvulsant) for about a year, and was going down on the dose before I got pregant. I am only taking 250 millagrams a day. I was taking 3,000. So, it is obviously a reduction! hehe. Anyway, my doctor has put me on Folic Acid to help counter act any negative efffects the Keppra may have on the little one.

I am getting so excited already! I can't believe I am not even showing yet! So long to go!!

Smiley Thanks again everyone!

Me again:

I had a Ultra Scan today. It is a test they give in the first trimester of pregancy to look for downsyndrome. I haven't gotten the results yet (it'll take about a week). All it was was a blood test and an ultra sound, except the ultra sound is special in the way it can look at the baby's neck and brain. I hope all is well. It looked good. He/She was bouncing around; seems happy!!

They will check for spina bifida later in pregnancy, but that will be only a blood test. Just an update!

I need to get caught up on this board...

Sara & Scott:

CONGRATULATIONS!!!  I look forward to hearing your "sob stories" from your pregnancy.  LOL ( I cried during my entire two pregnancies.)  I wish you the best of luck for you and your baby.  I'll say a prayer for God to send a special angel to watch over you.
Try not to be too worried about your pregnancy & MM.  I had both my children before I was diagnosed and I've had MM since birth.  Other than fainting one time (really short)  I did wonderful.  Even did it natural.  Once again, congratulations!!!

Lee

Thank you all so much! We are VERY excited. I just wanted to let you all know that the test they did for downs came back as it being very LOW RISK of having Downs!! So, hopefully things will continue looking up! We have our ultra sound on Nov. 3rd... to find out if it's a boy or girl.. I don't care, as long as he/she is healthy!

I am feeling good, just really tired, which I am sure is the pregnancy and not the MM.... Smiley

We have a test later for spina bifida, but I think in the third trimester. I am only 15 weeks...

Thank you again everyone!!!

God Bless!
