Maybe I helped someone today.
Sep 4th, 2004 at 7:14pm

I was on my lunch break today and I overheard a conversation between a couple of friends.  The first girl asked how so and so was doing and her friend said she wasn't doing so well.  She was still having numbness on the right side of her body and headaches.  She would always regain feeling after about 15 minutes, but she would be very tired.
Well, I just about killed myself trying to get over there.  I plopped down and without realizing it, told Arianna's story.  I told them I couldn't be sure, but it sounded a lot like what she was going thru.  I also made sure they understood that this is not a terminal disease.  I told her about this website and how there were many wonderful physicians listed who could help her.  I also told them that an MRI was the best place to start.  The girl I talked to felt so relieved.  She said her friend thought she was going crazy because none of the doctors would believe her.  They kept saying it was in her head.  I told them to research Moyamoya and see if any of what they read rang a bell and to tell her physician about it.  I made sure they understood that I was in no way saying that is what their friend had, I just thought they might want to check it out.

I cannot tell you how this made my day.  Not that someone might have MM, but that maybe, just maybe little Arianna and I gave someone a chance today.  Just wanted to share this.

That must have felt wondeful.Even if it isn't Moyamoya I bet it sure did give them peace of mind, that maybe they can help their friend figure out what it is, that sometimes doctors need help and don't have all the answers, and that if you dig you can find some answers. Most of all what you passed along is don't give up. That's a wonderful gift you and Arianna have passed along.

I believe that god works in mysteries ways and that everything happens for a reason! Like why was the security guard just walking by when I collasped in the parking lot and he got me help! God was there to help me though. You should feel good about what you did! Smiley take care

Way to go, Tammy!  I'll bet it felt so good to do what you did!  I'm sure that Arianna's proud of you, and cheering from her beautiful place in heaven.  Your spirit never ceases to amaze me and I'm glad to be part of this site with you!

Hugs,
Jill

Tammy- I think that it is great that you were given the opportunity to help someone else, like you said it might not be moyamoya but atleast that person has hope. What a wonderful feeling that must have been and like Jill said Arianna is so proud of you, so is your MM family!

I think that is great, especially how through your experieces in life have made you even compasionate to help other people.  I think we all are having a life changing experience right now, and I can only hope that we are all fortunate enough gain just 1/10th of the compasion you have.

I met a woman in my store that was having symptoms similar to TIA, but she always had a bad headache during that time.  Here symptoms where just numbness that only lasted a few days.  It seems to me that she is having migrains with aura, but she does not want to go to the doctor.  (funny we think that if we ignore it, it will go away).  Anyway I don't know what she did after, but I hope she is OK. Smiley

Thanks

Wayne

Kevin...you are so right...God has a greater purpose for Ann right now...but I truly believe that someday, we will all meet together again.

Tammy...What you did was absolutely wonderful!  By the way, do you know how the person is doing?  I hope that by you sharing Arianna's story, they were able to get the help they needed.  What a  Smileywarming experience!

Take care,
Shan

Tammy,

I loved your story.  Smiley

How wonderful that you were able to share Arianna's story with a friend and lead her to a neurologist not to mention you made her day. What a great feeling. Who know's, you may have actually saved her from further dibilitation or maybe even a stroke.

God Bless,

Lore
