On the lighter side?
Jan 20th, 2005 at 2:23pm

I've been busy the last couple of days with internet stuff and phone calls so I haven't been able to watch much TV "real time".

Just got a chance to watch the last couple of American Idol nights via the DVR.  Have I mentioned I love American Idol? lol

Anyone have any early predictions for this season?

So far, all I can say is Oklahoma...  I'll elaborate more next week.

Hey DJ!

We love American Idol here as well.  Let me see, my brother likes the guy from the hard rock band that quit to go be on American Idol.

And I'm just not sure!  I've got to get through all the cities first.  Smiley

I love American Idol too!  But I have a dilemna!  I hear it's going to be competing with Lost - which, I love even more!  What is a girl to do????

Hey Shari....Is it true? Will Lost and American Idol be on at the same time? I'm glad we have Tivo!lol As for my early favorite?? I'm going to pick the farm girl BUT as a female, I reserve the right to change my mind! HA!HA! I personally prefer the next round where you learn a lot more about their personalities andwork ethic. Waiting in the rooms to see if they are moving on is my next favorite part.....besides the actual eliminations shows!  ;Grin

My kids LOVE American Idol so we watch it at our house, I think Paula has gotten a bit meanier when that poor 16 year old girl sang, granted she was horrible, they tore her apart!! I kindof felt bad for her...or how about the guy who couldn't remember the words and he started crying.....I am a softie because I felt bad for them.  Undecided

If my boys didn't love CIS or is it CSI... too much...then I would be watching Idol...even though I can't hear their voices but I can "feel the music through their expressions" !!!  We do have several tV's but the best TV is taken...and my hubby thinks TV's should be off while the boys do their homework which they do during CIS !!!!!  CarasMOM

Hey Deej,

I can't give any early predictions yet, cuz I haven't seen them all, but I have picked the winner early every year except the year I picked "Clay." But I will tell ya that I did like that cutie, David Johnson. Are you guys related??...lol.. I have to hear him again, but I got real good vibes from another "DJ"...lol

Yeah....I saw those.  They called him the "miracle boy" or something like that.  I also cracked up when they showed the "Meet the Fakers."  LOL!

Well....we are now finished with the city tours and now on to the narrowing down.

SWEET!!!  Looks like my original prediction from the very first night of the season has made it through another cut.  I'm still sticking with her!  Carrie Underwood from Oklahoma.  WHOOHOO!

Yeah Carrie is good but I like the young girl that Simon said "Has more confidence than any 16 year old he had ever met."  She reminds me of the character from the old show 'The Nanny"  what was her name.....Oh yeah Fran Dresher!!  I like her alot!!  We will just have to see ;Grin

Kathleen,

You are right....she IS good.  Carrie Underwood is good, also, but she is too nervous.

I'm rooting for the one they call the "Miracle Baby."  I also like the guy, Mario.  He's got the look.

Ok American Idol junkies, it's been a couple of weeks since we've talked about this thread and we're getting down to the nitty gritty.

I didn't get the chance to watch the guys live last night but just zipped through the DVR of it real quick.

I thought Scott Savol, Anthony Federov, and Mario Vazquez were really good.  Travis Tucker (who I thought was HORRIBLE), Constantine Maroulis, and Nikko Smith are in danger of going home.

Tonight, I got to watch live.  Here were my thoughts during each performance BEFORE the judges said anything...
  • Amanda Avila - wasn't impressed, she's in trouble
  • Janay Castine - ouch, that hurt... she's in BIG trouble
  • Carrie Underwood - a little bland, but still my girl - TOP 12!
  • Vonzell Soloman - good enough to make it through but what's up with the costume? lol
  • Nadia Turner - best so far!  Excellent!
  • Lindsey Cardinale - started slow, finished strong.  Should be safe.
  • Mikalah Gordon - powerful voice, annoying personality. Going to be a star someday.  On to the top 12.
  • Jessica Sierra - best performance last week.  One of the best this week.  On to the top 12.

Whatcha think?

Hi DJ,

I pretty much think exactly as you!  The girls are not the strongest though.  A guy is going to win this competition.  I guarantee it!

Two words for you.....Bo Bice!  Enough said.

He's awesome!  I couldn't agree more, Michelle!  I would definitely buy an album of his...

My top five that I like best are Bo Bice, Mario, Carrie, Nadia, and Jessica.

Don't you think Mario reminds you of Justin Gurrini from the first American Idol?  He's got that look about him I think.

My faves are Bo Bice, Anwar, Carrie, and Nadia, and Anthony.  I'll be honest with you......IMO a guy is going to win this one.
