SURGERY IS OVER....whew finally! I got a STA-MCA bypass 3 weeks ago at Redwood City Kaiser by Dr. Efron who has studied with Dr. Steinberg of Stanford. For those who have no idea who I am, I am a 23 year old female who was diagnosed with moyamoya in the beginning of January or at least thats when I found out I had it. I only get my symptoms once in awhile and still have some slight headaches. Hopefully I'll be fully recovered in just a few more weeks. My doctors needed a little more time on making a decision because I only have narrow vessels only on my left side. I decided to take the aggressive path and get the surgery. Also in case you guys were wondering, I got a mini stroke and couldn't speak at all which is why I went to the emergency room and checked myself into the hospital.Ok I blabbed on enough, but I will post up a picture of what my surgery looked like and if anyone has any questions, please don't hesistate to ask!
