What a Gratifying experience
May 9th, 2005 at 1:14pm

Hello everyone my name is Shane which several of you know me already.  For those who dont I am Michelle's(Seachelles) brother.  I just got back the end of last weak from Stamford for Michelles follow-ups.  I feel pretty confident for my sister everything went very well, but we are waiting for the results.  My sister went through everything like a trooper but still is confused about one thing what do a tree and a fly have in common, I still dont even know that one.  The couple days I spent out there were so gratifying because I got to sit with 2 famlies, Trinas, and kevin's famlies during one of their loved ones surgeries.  I cant tell you how rewarding that was to me.  I so wish I lived out there to be with all the families who are going though these surgeries.  I know having someone there during these surgeries means so very much.  We were so lucky when we came out to California to have Jill, Tara, and Campbel out there for support, they are such wondeful people and are very special to alot of us going through these trials in our life.  During Michelles follow ups we also met another family out there for their follow ups which was Mark his dad Ron and mother Lisa.  I feel we have made friends that will last a life time.  If anyone needs someone to talk to I am always willing to listen its the least I can do to be there for others going through this terrable disease.  I dont know if I am getting Moya Moya, I have been having some numbness in my fingers on several different occasions, and seem more tired then normal(ok Michelle dont worry about that one).  I am in the process of getting some testing done such as MRI and MRA done, so we will see what happens.  Well I wish all well and just know god has strong shoulders

Shane,

It has been incredible rewarding for us too (Trina's family!).  The support from everyone, especially you and Michelle, Mark's family, Kevin and his sister Lore, and Tara's family...it's overwhelmingly emotional.  THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU.  And I'm thoroughly praying that all is well for you too.

Also, to all, thanks for the quick feedback on the swishing from everyone.  I'm still having some sharp pains, so we're heading over to Stanford now for a check up.  Crossing our fingers that all is okay.

Love,
Trina

PS - Shane/Michelle, I have to tell you.  My brother is very picky about some things -- I asked him if he wanted a Moyamoya band and he looked at me funny (which meant no).  After my surgery, when I saw him with the band, I asked what prompted the change.  He said Michelle gave it to him.  I haven't seen him take it off yet -- I don't know what you did or how you did it, but please do share your secret!!

Trina

I hope all goes well for you today and will be saying a prayer for you.  I am sure everything will be fine.  Sure wish I could have stayed for yours and kevins other surgeries, just know that although I am not there I am there(if that makes any since).  Keep me posted on how you are doing.  And tell your brother mom dad and family I said hello and big hugs to them.  I am not sure how did we get him to wear the bracelet.  I think blue was a good color, well good luck and let us know how everything goes

Trina,

I'm not sure how I was able to get your brother to wear the band.  Wow!  I must have had an impact.  LOL!  I just pulled it out of my bag, asked if he wanted one, and he said sure!  That's some secret huh!?!?!   Smiley

Please let us know how things go when you see the doctor.  I'm sure you are fine.  My mom and brother had me see the doctor after my first surgery because I was getting some words confused and some slurring.  It turned out that he said I was just fine.  LOL!

Please tell your parents and brother I said hello.  Has your brother gone back home yet?
