My labs for possible viral infection
May 21st, 2005 at 12:56am

My blood work for testing to see if i have or had a viral infection came back in finally. My mom got copys of my lab work and took it to her friend who is a local dr who does blood work and told my mom that what my blood work showed that at some point i did have a viral infection that my body was fighting off. The blood work also shows that as of right now the viral infection is no longer being faught off wich means its not longer there or is dormint. She said with the case of moya moya she doesnt know cause my results would be perfect for a normal person but for a person with my condtion she couldnt answere fully. She said more then likey i am fine cause the reuslts we good. My nuerosurgeon is good but sometimes takes a while to review things and i couldnt of waited that long. So from what i have gathers alot of people suffer from some kind of viral infection of some sort but cant be proven cause the body fights it off before it can be linked to moya moya. Once i get the official word from my nuerologist i will be shure to post it.

Extremelife,

Please forgive me, but I'm not at all sure what you just said in your post, but I think you said your lab tests showed that you had a viral infection at one time. Well, we all have at one time. A viral infection is the most common cause of infection, but usually is not serious. You keep mentioning a viral infection being related to moyamoya, and researchers all over the world say there is no proof of that.

Yes I know there is no proof of it and its not all that from what i have been told by three diffrent people that i have seen is that a viral infection and moya moya havent been linked together do to the lack of knowledge on where and how moya moya is caused. My surgeon did that blood work to see if i still had a viral infection cause at one point I sufferd 3 seizures in a week and that has never happend it was the first time anything serious has happend to me since my surgery was in december so he checked to make shire the infection still wasnt there. Thanks for your reply !!

Thanks for sharing your results.  It sounds like good news.  Let us know what your neurologist says about the lab.

Thanks,
Jenny (mom to Daphne. www.daphnestory.com)
