Encouraging News
May 21st, 2005 at 9:24pm

Just wanted to share something that really encouraged me about MM.  My mom had a TIA on Friday and was admitted to the hospital.  She is doing great but they did hook her up with a local neurologist.  He had heard of MM!  This is a VERY small town so I have to admit I as shocked that he had heard of it.  He also told her that he just retook his boards in neurology and they covered MM quite a bit in the review and exam.  I thought that was pretty exciting and wanted to share!!

Chelsie,

Yahoooooooooooooooooooo!  That's music to my ears, except for the part about your mom having a TIA.  I hope she's o.k.  Please keep us posted on her progress!

My motto is "one person at a time" with MM education.  I hope we hear more and more similar reports from people as awareness increases.

Thanks for sharing . . . that's very cool news!Smiley

Hi friends,

I just had dinner last night with Terri and David ( David had a stroke 18 yrs.old ) he had his surgeries in May with Dr. Steinberg. David is going to UC San Diego and
wants to become a Pediatrician. He feels there should be EXTENSIVE EDUCATION for "wanta be Pediatricians"
on MM because MM effects so many children. If it became one of the many REQUIREMENTS, I bet it would save so many heartaches and STROKES from happening. I guess it's one step at a time but keep
walking forward.

Hi Chelsie

Hope your mother is doing well!

I think since you and myself got back from the west
a couple Doctors have learned about MM.

Yes,Columubus is a cowtown as my parents used to say!
You would think that OSU would know more since are up on cancer and heart promblems,

My MM was reconise by a Radiologist at Grant Hosp.
Then we have Dr. Gerwirtz who had a fellowship under Dr. Steinberg.

Glad you held the fort down,Glad to be home!

Thanks and Hugs
Kevin
