Kathleen's neuro appt.
Jun 22nd, 2005 at 9:59am

Kathleen had her neuro appt yesterday. We talked about ehr newest MRI.He said the specialist who read it reported that her saw an area of decreased blood flow.He also reasurred me that it could be just a misreading of the MRI.We ahve an appt with Dr.Scott in 2 weeks so he will look at them too.Has anyone ever had a scare with their MRI's? Or decreased blood flow somewhere well after the surgeries? Just praying it's a mistake. We really rely on the MRI to help us know if she's had any problems especially small ones since she's really unable to tell us about things like numbness, tingling, dizzy or vision problems.

Hi Mary Grace,

To answer your question, I had "bad" MRIs and decreased blood flow well after I had surgery in Dec. 2002- about a year and half down the road. The initial post-op MRIs and SPECTs had looked good.  I just recently had that side operated on again.  It seems my first surgery either didn't work well to begin with or, for some unknown reason, the MM progressed despite the surgery.

I don't want to alarm you but I can understand why it's even more difficult for you with Kathleen because of her inability to let you know exactly how she is feeling.  Just wanted to let you know, that while rare, the corrective MM surgeries can sometimes fail  at a later time.  I'm glad that you are going to be seeing Dr. Scott soon but in the meantime try not too worry too much as it could very well be a misreading as well.

Good vibes going out to Kathleen!

Mary Grace,

I will be praying for you and Kathleen and your family.  I hope it was a misreading.  Good luck and keep us posted.

Other than the MRI how has Kathleen been doing?  I read about her run and was so excited and filled with joyous tears for her.

All my prayers,

Michell

hey...doctors are people too...and so are the techs that administer our many tests... so misreadings can happen.  i think you are doing the right thing by seeking another opinion.  you, kathleen and your family are in our prayers...

i know it's easier said than done, but try not to worry... "God doesn't give you anything you can't handle."

Take care,
SFH

Thanks everyone,  Kathleen's been doing well but I really depend on the MRI to be sure that there's nothing small that we're missing. She has good days and days that she's just kinda "out of it" or seems to limp more.I usually just chalk it up to tired. She also wouldn't be able to tell me about numbness or tingling or vision trouble.
I'm not really too worried,SFH I LIVE by that! God doesn't give us more than we can handle. That's what gets me through every day.I'll let you know how we make out.
