Trey has made it one year post op
Jun 22nd, 2005 at 1:28pm

I just wanted to thank everyone who has kept Trey in your prayers since we came onto this board.  Today marks one year since he had surgery on the right side and Friday will be one year for the left.  He has been doing really well and is about to celebrate his 2nd birthday.  Trey is still not using his left side as much as before the second stroke, but he is using it more than he did last year.  He has begun to walk and is starting to talk, not sentences yet, but he is starting to talk none the less.  He doesn't use a walker to walk, he does have an AFO for the left leg.  We are considering going another round of constraint therapy with the cast on his right arm to make him use his left arm/hand.  He is doing great!!!!!

Hi Michell - That is fantastic news. Hope he had a great birthday. It is a wonderful stage from now on, when they start to talk and do things - it makes me so sad to read posts on this website from mothers with children so young, they don't deserve to be going through something like this, it's hard enough for us adults to deal with MM but I am so VERY happy, Trey is doing well.
Kind regards from Moira

Great news, Michell!  That one-year mark is a huge one, and I know how good it feels!  I'm so glad you're enjoying it, and that Trey is doing so well.

Big hugs . . . thanks for the update!

Congratulations Trey!

I just celebrated my 1-month post op yesterday...far from a year, but nonetheless, taking it one day at a time.

Congratulations, again..and we'll celebrate my 1-year and your 2-year same time next year!
