Hi Shirley...Welcome to the MM family.   Was wondering if your daughter has had the surgeries yet (on both sides) and how long ago ???  Everybody is different but my Cara had different symptoms pre-operation versus post-operation.   Sounds like your daughter had her operation but want to be sure.  And we all can give you some input the best we can.   Smiley CarasMOM

I'd also be interested in your daughter's Moyamoya status (post or pre-surgery) if you don't mind sharing.  The spells do sound like they could be seizures... have you gotten the results of the EEG back, yet?  If they are seizures, the good news is that there's lots of medicines out there that could help.

Also, my daughter is extremely irritable and moody.  She's only 22 months old, and has pretty much been that way since birth.  It could be due to tenuous blood flow to the brain... we're not really sure.

I hope your daughter is feeling better, soon!

Jenny

Thank you all      Thank you all for careing and trying to help. The being irritable and moody has come almost a year after her first surgery, as far as the spells she has the EEG, showed they are not seizures. The Epilepsy specialist called them episodes, he feels it might be the stress of liveing with MM or he said there is the chance they could becaused by MM. In either case he thinks she should see a phsiologist. If you don't know Jeanette is 37 . and I still think of her as my little girl.

Its okay Shirley! I am 37 if you asked my mom right now I will always and forever be her little girl no matter how old I get! I think it is wonderful that you care and are so concerned about your daughter! I know that my mom went through the same thing when I was first dianosed! It was hard on her as I am sure it is for you! But you found a good support system here so if you need help just ask! Good luck and I will be praying that you get the answers that you are looking for!!  Ann

Shirley, our daughter Kelsey (13 yrs old) had the surgery (both sides)2 years ago. and suffered a terrible stroke.   She has "episodes" "spells" that sound like your daughters.  No one has ever been able to figure out what they are.  But we were told they are not seizures, as she understands us talking to her while she is having them.   She stiffens up, cries, and seems like she is in pain, and has a look of fear on her face.  They can last anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours...  Has them 30 to 60 days apart some times sooner, and has also gone a few months without one.  They are very scary, and we always feel so bad for her, and frustrated, as we don't know what it is.  We give her valium and painkiller during them, and that seems to help.  Good luck,    Kelsey' Dad,  Pat

  Pat& Ann,
Thank you Ann it is so difficult to stand by and not beable to do anything to help but pray. Jeanette does not have a computer, so I print things off this web site andsend them to her so she knows she's not alone.
Pat, thank you to for shareing. Jeanette doesn't cry but that look of fear is there and she can here us but can't answer. When she comes out of one she needs to go to the bathroom right a way. Kelsey and you Ann also will be in my prays. Everyone thank you for shareing.
