Hi,
Well, my doctors never called my extra surgeries on my left side "Mid Line" BUT, if what Stephanie came up with is the correct equal, than I had it. I had an indirect surgery combined with a OA (occipital artery)-MCA surgery in April, approximately 1 1/2 years after my initial STA-MCA. The reason they did this was because the STA-MCA, while indeed providing BETTER blood flow than before, did not provide ENOUGH blood flow and the MM was continuing to progress. The graft, from what I gather, was just not big enough. Since they obviously couldn't do another STA-MCA they used the occipital artery this time. So far so good but I must admit that this last surgery was EXTREMELY painful and much more difficult to recuperate from than the STA-MCA. Sure thrilled there was another option though! ;

I sure hope that Dane's test comes back well and he doesn't have to have another surgery. But, at least know that even though it's frustrating when you all thought he was done with surgeries, there is something that can be done to remedy the situation.
Please excuse my writing tonight as I am working on very little sleep.

You all are in my prayers and if it turns out that Dane does need the OA-MCA, and if you have more questions, please know that I'm more than happy to share my experience wih this.

Lisa
