Anyone had a stereotactic biopsy?

Just wondering...as I will be having one this coming Wednesday...   Smiley  I know that the main concern is that I cannot stop taking my aspirin or Aggrenox (which also has aspirin and Persantine), so they did forewarn me that bleeding is a deep concern.  We weighed the risks, and it looks like I need the aspirin to prevent blood clots, so we're just going to pray that no arteries will be punctured, and even if they are, hopefully bleeding will stop with compression alone.  I was also warned that if they are unable to stop the bleeding, I would be transported to the nearest ER, then to the OR.

The option to go straight to the OR to do this procedure was ruled out because my surgeon felt that I would have more bleeding and a transfusion would be necessary.  I'm very nervous because our Level-I Trauma Center Hospital wouldn't do this procedure because the radiologist talked to my local neurosurgeon and was honestly too scared to do it considering my recent double bypass.  Shocked The radiologist was honest enough to say that he never had a patient with MM and an STA-MCA for that matter, and I agreed that if he felt nervous about doing the procedure, then it made me even more nervous.  Therefore, I am going to another local hospital that specializes in women and children.  Any of you felt like since being diagnosed with MM and your surgery that some dr.'s seem like they don't want to touch you or take on your case?  Smiley

I'm just wondering if anybody else had to do this type of procedure, especially after being diagnosed with MM.  I read on other posts that others have had surgeries after MM, but they were able to stop taking their blood thinning medications...something I cannot do.  Embarrassed

Take care,
Shan
