Prayer Request
Dec 12th, 2005 at 1:41pm

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to request some prayers for someone in our MM family you don't know yet.

Daryl, 32 years old, will be having surgery at Stanford tomorrow (Tuesday).  He's the son-in-law of the wonderful speech therapist who was such a help to Tara during the difficulties she encountered following her second surgery.  We had the pleasure of meeting Daryl this past weekend and spending a few hours with him.   He's a nice young man with a wife and 2 year old daughter.  Understandably, he's anxious about what's going to happen tomorrow.  I know your good thoughts and prayers will bring Daryl a much needed feeling of peace.

Thanks ahead of time!

Smiley, Jill

Dear Daryl -

I wanted to add my blessings and prayers to Jills post.  I will be holding you on my heart  Smiley  on Thursday as you go through surgery, as well as Dr. S and all the other doctors/nurses with you.  Also, blessings to your family as they wait - it is pretty hard.  Thankfully, your mom will have Jill with her.

Hugs  Smiley  and prayers to you.

Daryl,

Sending bunches of kind thoughts to you and your family and am confident you will come through this surgery very successfully!  I was able to meet with your wife and mother-in-law during my follow up in November and they told of your story.  I'm sure you will get through this tough time and will have a wonderful recovery.  Know that you are in excellent hands!!

Best wishes,
Trina

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to let you all know that Daryl's surgery today went very well.  I was able to be there until mid-afternoon, then had to go to work, but I spoke with his family around 5:00 pm.  Daryl was out of surgery at that point, and they were waiting to see him in the ICU.  Dr. Steinberg gave them a GREAT report of a very stable day and now, a significantly increased blood flow  Smiley.

Daryl will spend the typical one night in the ICU, then should be moved to a regular room on good old B3 sometime tomorrow.

Thanks very much for the prayers and well-wishes!  I know the family appreciates them a whole bunch.  Will keep you posted over the next few days.

Big hugs,
Jill

Hi,
My name is Amy and I am Daryl's wife.   After a very long, exhausting day I am home with much comfort.   Daryl is doing very well and Dr. Steinberg is very pleased with the graft.   I cannot thank Jill & Tara enough for their support (Campbell too =).   Daryl and I feel very lucky to have such a wonderful support network of friends and family.   We will be at Stanford until Sunday, but I will keep you posted.  Thanks again for the prayers.   Smiley

Hello Amy,
I am so happy that everything went well with Daryl's surgery. I certainly agree that Jill and her family is an excellent support team.  They were there for my family when i had my surgery on Nov 23.  God bless them all.
Amy good luck to you and your family and i will still be praying for you all.
Regards,
cheryl

Thanks Cheryl.
We actually saw you and your fiance and mother? on 11/24 at Stanford.   Daryl was an inpatient after having a TIA on Thanksgiving.   We often took walks and saw you guys in the hall (but didn't know you were fellow moyamoya family until Jill put it together for me).    You looked GREAT, and it gave us great comfort to see how well you were doing.   I am headed to the hospital shortly, you know how limited the ICU visiting hours are!   I HOPE he goes to B3 today.
Thanks for the thoughts, and I hope to see you again in the future.   We would love to have you and your fiance over for dinner at your 6 month follow-up.   Maybe Jill & Tara will join us as well.  (we live 10 minutes from Stanford)  I plan to put a picture of Daryl on the site, maybe you will remember him from your stay.
Take care and keep in touch.
-Amy

Hi Jill and Amy,

Thanks for letting us know how well Daryl's surgery went.

I just have one question "Did Daryl behave himself"?  Smiley
Amy, if you don't know the history of the famous line, Jill will fill you in.

Amy, we have labled Jill the "Moyamoya Stanford Ambassador". She sat with me through two surgeries and let me use her for a sounding board. She can give you details. Gota love her Smiley She's terrific.

Keep us posted on Daryl's post surgery recovery.

Hugs Smiley
