Hey Lisa-

I am sorry that i do not know much about passing MM on for i do not have children yet but i do fear passing my MM along one day. From what i understand is that it would be extremely rare for you to pass MM on to your children and they would not do testing unless the child showed sympyoms but that does not mean that it could not happen. I hope that Dylan does not end up having MM but if he does i am sure he will be able to handle well knowing that his mom has been through it all and will be right by his side. I know that i really was not of much help but i want you know that i will be thinking of you and dylan and hope for some good news. Please keep us updated!

hey christy , thanks for answering and yes! it does help to know you are thinking of us. my son,Dylan is going in for his angiogram on January 26 and my question is do they do the same thing to kids as they do to adults? He is a very athletic boy who loves basketball, roller blading on big ramps, and football. does he give this all up? telling him about surgery is going to be a piece of cake compared to telling him about giving up sports!! Help?!!!

Wow I'm so sorry your going through this with your son.My daughter has MM.She's 8 right now she had surgery 4 yrs ago. From what I have read kids can go back to sports after a healing time without any real restrictions except of course the typical like dehydration and hyperventilation.Dr. Scott touches on this on his site I believe.Your family is in our prayers.Keep us posted.I know how difficult this waiting is it sometiems seems unbearable.

Hello,
My mom has MM, and I also have MM. We found out in the reverse way. Myself first at 34 and my mom 2005 and then my mom 54. We did have my daughter 15 had 2 symptoms. We had her checked MRI/MRA all looks great. My son 14  no symptoms has not been checked yet. But, I'm going to. I definatley can say the emotions that came with thinking that I might have passed this to my daughter was difficult, then one day my mother said to me"I am sorry because of me you have this"I told my mother there is no way to control it and to please never feel guilt over it again. Then I realized that was one of the emotions I had felt during the time my daughter was being tested. I just wanted to tell you I wish you and your family the best, and try not to beat yourself up. It was not in your control. Best of wishes......Lena
