Kate back from Stanford
Mar 27th, 2006 at 4:13pm

Hi Everyone -

We (Kate, Cass and Jon) are back from Stanford.  Kate's six-month follow-up went really well and her by-passes look great !  We are SO blessed !!

While at Stanford, we got to spend time with Tara, Jill and Campbell (the absolute highlight of our trip !) as well as meeting two new MMers, Yassi from Nashville and Keith from Louisiana, and their families.  It was really great, and we are SO glad their surgeries went well.

Please say prayers for our family.  The day after we got back my dad had a stroke, and is now on Hospice care.  He is 87 and has had a good long life, but it is sad and emotionally draining, just the same.

Thanks again for all your positive thoughts and good wishes to Kate while we were at Stanford.  If all goes well, we will see y'all in Orlando !

Love and Hugs,

Cass, Kate and Jon

Hi Cass/Kate and Jon,

So glad to hear Kate's six month check up went well. That has to be a relief for all.

Kevin and I will be headed back to Stanford for Kevin's one year check up. Kevin has done remarkably well and we too expect good news.

Cass, I'm really sorry to hear about your father having a stroke. I can truly relate. Our mother had a massive stroke several years ago and she too had a full life and had open heart surgery 20 years prior. She was very fortunate to have lived so long with a 20 year old bypass.  Regardless of age, it is never easy to see these things happen to your parents or for them or you to have to go through it.  Kevin also had a significant stroke several years ago. Of course he was in his 40's and he has recovered well. I have seen many older folks recover from strokes. I will keep your father and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Please let us know how things are going and how you all are holding up.

Hugs,

Lore

Lore-

Thanks so much for the prayers.  My dad had a quadruple heart by-pass 21 years ago - isn't that a wild coincidence?

I know Kevin's check-up will go well.  And I know Tara, Jill and Campbell are looking forward to seeing you guys.  Have fun at Stanford and let us know how things go.

Love and hugs,

Cass
