Hi Cheryl,
If you are experiencing numbness on the same side that you had surgery, it's going to mean that the other side of your body is going to be affected (like DJ pointed out in a previous post) so it won't be relevant to whether the surgery is working as you haven't had surgery yet for the opposite side. The numbness is a sign of MM that blood supply isn't working too well, so I would get in contact with your neurosurgeon and ask his advice. Next step would be to request a MRI/MRA to see how good/bad the blood flow is to the opposite side, and then see if surgery is needed ASAP.

I had a six month gap between my surgeries - My left side was my first STA-MCA surgery and I was experiencing numbness and headaches and had a stroke that put me in hospital and resulted in my MM diagnosis, but I chose to have the other side done six months later, not because I had to but because I wanted to, while I could still recover relatively quickly (being young enough)
As I have said earlier in another post, if you can't get your doc to schedule some tests to see if you need to have your next surgery, get someone who will - it is your life at stake here, not his, and you need to get piece of mind to avoid unnecessary stress!!
You cannot afford to sit on your hands with MM and do nothing, and avoid warning signs, so do whatever is needed to get the reults that you need to hear

Good luck
Moira
