Baby #2 for dau Laura!

And, of course, she couldn't just HAVE a baby at the hospital like normal people- he came in only 20 minutes at home and she was lucky to get her boxer jammies off!

It only took about 5 minutes after she thought she had to go to the bathroom for full labor to start, and that is indeed where he was born...

7#8oz, average length, full head of fine dark hair, very little swelling since he spent almost no time in the birth canal, and a quiet and healthy little boy.

Everyone was worried sick with the first delivery, and she had an epidural and some issues with her blood pressure dropping even with heavy hydration- think it was the time it took...

Laura was in pain only briefly (described it as more like intense pressure vs sharp), and within 10 mins of birth they were being loaded into the ambulance for the 10 min ride to the hospital; everyone said they were both just fine, and she didn't even need any stitches this time!

Nolan Byron joins his extremely healthy big sister Kaya Liu, now 20 months old and who just had her FIRST illness in the form of a sinus infection from flying to HI.

Other than sleeping a lot and being so quiet and well-behaved, Nolan is just like his sister in health and growth, having put on a large chunk of weight in his 3rd month and is now a chubby boy of almost 5 months. Smiley

I have waited a few months to post, so that I could be sure it was a complete recap of any possible medical issues.
And.... well... nothing, nada, zip, zilch, buppcuss.
Not so much as a headache for Laura or more than very mild colic for Nolan, and Kaya is still very much a smart and healthy little girl as well.

I will say that I think Laura may have been privately suffering from post-pregnancy depression with Kaya for about 3-6 months, and it is likely the same was true of the first 3 months this time as well...

For those that don't remember, Laura was diagnosed back in '89 with very severe (90-100% blockage) bilateral moyamoya of her internal carotid arteries and had modified EDAS' at UCSF with Dr Micheal Edwards in April/May '90- she has been considered fully revasularized and healthy as of one year after surgery,  and is now just 22 years of age.

Oh, and the capper?
Laura was wearing a sz 6 after Kaya, and I figured she would never see 3/4 again- but within 6 weeks of Nolan being born she was in a 4, and is now in a 3!
Send the hate mail to Antioch; I'm sure every woman who has ever had a baby- let alone 2 in 2 years!- will know who to forward them to  Wink Smiley

I have no idea how to do this, but am attempting a pic below:

If this came through, that is her grandmother-in-law Mai on the left holding Nolan, Kaya, and Laura a few weeks ago.

Hope everyone is doing great, and congrats on the new little one Sara  Smiley
