6 Month Follow Up = Good News
Jul 25th, 2006 at 11:29am

Hi all,

Yesterday afternoon I had my 6 month follow doctors appointment and medical test. As you may recall, I was hospitalized in January with TIA symptions and went through the whole gammet of testing (MRI/MRA, Angio, etc).

Yesterdays appointment when much better than expected. My neuro decided to run another CO2 Dopplar Challenge Study. This past December, my left side MC1 area reading was a 0.5 (for the test at Columbia, a 2.0 is considered normal). Well, after 6 months of being on Plavix and the doctors are thinking that my body is starting to compensate for the lack of blood flow (my January Angio showed signs of communicating arteries). Any way, yesterdays test results were a 1.3

My doctors were happy with this. Still not in the clear. But better off than I was in January. The next step is another follow up in January with another Doplar and MRA.

He also said that I would not be "normal" again, and that they would still consider surgery in the future.

But hey, I'm glad that the numbers went up and not down.

Greg

I was misdiagnosed with MM in March of 2005. In January 2006, I was told it is not MM, but rather a massive restriction in the MC1 segment of my left carotid artery.
