Aug 3^rd, 2006 at 9:32pm Is having the feeling of a fog in the head a sign of poor blood supply.It is like a cloudness feeling. It will come and go. I just want to sit down till it passes. I don't want to try to think about anything. Can this be a tia? I am a diabetic and I always go check and test my blood sugar and that is not what it is. Jan

I don't know what it is, but I get a "foggy" feeling" too. I don't feel like I am going to faint. I just don't feel "right" sometimes.

I wish I was more help as to what it is... but, I get it, too.

I have wondered if it has to do with my medications or being over tired. I really have't pin pointed it, though.

Let me know if you figure it out, though!!

Gosh you guys, that seems to be how Kathleen acts sometimes.It's been 4 yrs since ehr surgery and she's had no strokes but she still has good days and not so good days.Some days,as her teacher describes it she's either "ON" or she's not.You can physically see it in her face and eyes.It's not always because she's tired because it can happen at anytime durring the day.Soemtimes she can recover and go on aobut her day but other days it can be the whole day.We're trying to come up with a plan for these times as to what to do to help her through it without just sending her home.Any suggestion as to what works for you guys at these times to recover or feel better could certainly help.I wonder if others get this feeling too?????

Reply #3 - Aug 9^th, 2006 at 10:37pm Mitchell, also complains of a foggy feeling, though in his words he says he feels dizzy in the head. His teachers have also remarked that some days, he just really does seem worlds away. Perhaps it could be a sign of a t.i.a, or could it be seizure activity.

I get this a lot. Especially after high intensity exercise or not even intense exercise. Sometimes just randomly.. I have lots of bad days (I'm still only 3 months post surgery) and it's tough being a college student. Having a foggy episode or tia walking into an exam that can affect your entire GPA..now that's not good. or fun. There are times when I sit down to try to write a paper and I can't even put 2 and 2 together and I just end up getting up and leaving. Other times 5 hours later, I'll feel tired, but I feel like the "fog" is gone

Seems to be no pattern to them - if I am away from home, I just sit quietly until I feel ready to operate again. If at home, I lie down for a while. Like the others - I would love to know the "why". The lack of proper profusion to brain or head causes you not to see so well since not enough oxygen is supplying the structures to work properly.

I call it my WISHY WASHY HEAD FEELINGS!

I too, am cronically foggy, lightheaded and when I turn my head.....the world turns with it! LOL

Somedays it is worse than others....but it is always there in some degree.

Concentration issues are certainly getting worse.....I feel I am turning into a full blown (AADD) adult attention deficit disorder! I am repeating myself so much to everyone (that's so I don't forget what I just said)because, my short term memory is really shot! My husband and kids are all high academic achievers and I am feeling like odd man out with pre-alzheimers! It is really a daily coping and hiding my deficits project....so that I can keep what little self-esteem I have left. Lately, I have forgotten so many important things.....it is getting me down....because I used to be a dynamic, organized person with everything so streamlined.

Just call me "Lotsa-Foggy"

I am wishing that after I do the surgery, I will be in a better place....(I hope)

lotsofkids, good luck with everything!! I'm only an undergrad college student who is quickly fading. hopefully I will regain my memory since I've got a few more months before I may be fully recovered (hoping that I am) and maybe regain memory. My GPA has gone down and I always used to be the best student. I feel really scared when I start to lose my memory for the craziest things and how often I have the foggy episodes. I'm at my 3 month after surgery mark, so hoping it gets better. Best to you all....

Hello~

Good going with the fuzzies.
I get them too. Had major stroke in 1999, surgery, and another major stroke in 2000......I'm in my 50's.
I just try to kick back, get away from external stimulation, not have to be high functional, etc....
The bummer is, I never know how things are going to be for me so I (actually affects my husband too since he never knows how the day is going to be for us) can't plan or count on doing things.
Trying to accept and 'go with' this new way of being...but it's now easy.
