Hi Amber, good luck on your surgery, I know it will not take 2 days, we talk about brain surgery here, my 1st one I spend 5 days in hos., the 2nd one is 8 days.  So it all depend how you feel and don't let doctor tell you go home while you not ready yet.  Takecare, you're in my prayer.  Post to let us know how you doing. Hi Amber.

You will be in my thoughts and prayers as you go to surgery on the 19th. I am confident you will do fine. The waiting seems to be the hardest for most.  You're almost there with only 5 days left. Stay strong and know that you are not alone and are supported by many who have walked this same path.

Most generally, one is hospitalized for at least 3 days and some for 4 days depending on the circumstances.

I noticed you are from Ohio near Cincinnati. I live about 30 miles north of Columbus. My brother has MM and was operated on by Dr. Steinberg at Stanford in May 2005. Who is doing your surgery and at which hospital? Are you having direct or indirect bypass on one or both sides?

Keep us posted on your progress and if you need to talk we are here to support you.

Hugs,

Lore

Hello Amber!!!  I had my first surgery on Aug. 7th 2006 the surgery took 12 hours.  I was in the hospital for 3 nights.  I was back to work in 3 weeks on light duty.  I just had my second surgery on Jan. 9th 2007.  I'm such a pro at this I only stayed the one night (my mom is a nurse.)  My face/eyes swelled for a couple of days.  I am not taking any pain meds and have to say that I feel good.  I plan to return to work in 2 weeks. You will be in my thoughts and prayers as you go to surgery on the 19th.  Hang in their and be tough.  Amanda
