You sound like a case similar to me.  I was told it would get better, but I still get the numbness, headaches and symptoms. Supposedly I won't need second surgery if it grows to the other side. I have a checkup soon so hopefully my questions are answered.

Good luck. You're not alone

I had by-pass surgery two years ago and still have numbness in right hand. Was told a year ago that the surgery did not improve my circulation to the brain. Don't know if I would go through it again.

I just had one surgery. It did not work so don't know if I would go thru it again. I know that my family would want me to but have been stroke free for almost nine months and don't want to push my luck.

****I would definitely tell your doctor that you woke up and couldn't move your legs or toes for ten minutes.*****
That sounds like possible TIA, stroke, or type of seizure.  You may also want to consider getting a second opinion.  There is a fantastic list of doctors on this wesite that maybe helpful for you.

I would think that any numbness that you are having post-surgery would be from a stroke or an injury that the brain received pre-surgery. I think some people experience small TIAs with very subtle numbness, especially when they are very tired (at least this is what triggers my TIAs).  However, any type of dramatic or widespread numbness would encourage me to take an immediate visit to the emergency room!

If anyone disagees, finds I am misinformed or has anything to add, please do!
hugs to all,
Steph

Steph is absolutely right.....that type of symptom should be reported to your doctor!

Don't be easy with a troubling sign. We are fragile and if things were to go wrong....it could be serious.

I am only 5 months post double direct bypass's....I still have headaches (although reduced), I still have numbness and tingles in my left arm. I have other sx's too but overall....I believe there is a consistant trend that things are getting a little better. The most improved area is my brain fog has improved. I really feel my mental clarity is much better, even tho my physical condition is still far from where I would wish it to be.

Anyhow....I hope you find yourself in good health soon...and do contact your Neurologist.
