Not feeling crash hot.. humidity.. excitement??
Feb 1st, 2007 at 4:33am

yo all, i haven't posted for ages.. but lately i have not been feeling too well at all... worst in about 8 months.. not sure if it's the ridiculous humidity (just moved interstate melbourne - brisbane) or perhaps the excitement and busy-ness of living with so many friends again??
i have been extremely well hydrated, and am working less hours than i was in melbourne.... not sure what it is but just constantly painfully tired and often unsteady/"dizzy" etc... strange.. and lethargic...

i would have thought that heat and humidity would thin the blood... or does it thicken it perhaps?

any ideas?

Gosh I'm really sorry your not feeling well. I'm not sure of exactly how my daughter feels when it's hot and humid but what I can tell you is it just WIPES HER OUT completely.she is distracted, lethargic, she cna't work or concenrate. We've ahd a lot of issues with school on this matter and they finally agreed to put air conditioning in her lcassroom durring the warmer months.this happens somewhat even in the winter if the heat is turned up too high.I have to dress her very cool even in the winter,no sweaters or heavy pants.I'm not sure how much this helps you, and I certainly run it all past your dr.,just my 2 cents.I hope you can get some relief.Keep us posted.

Hey there myspace friend! Emily, I second what was just posted.  I get absolutely wiped out in heat and humidity.  (Aren't you guys having some crazy heat wave in Australia or am I confused?).  I would try staying out of the heat as much as posible and see if that helps.  If that doesn't help I would give your doc a buzz.

Hey Em!!
I'm just being a smart ass here and saying it might be that "recycled" water you have to drink in Brisbane!!
Only kidding! Don't know what to suggest other than the fact that I have only experienced a brief bit of Qld's humidity years ago and I found it was hard to handle and that was before I found out I had MM. Maybe it is just the excitement of the move. What posessed you to move there?!! (My brother-in-law lives in Brizzie)

i know about humidity..here in hawaii humidity can get bad.  i usually feel like i'm outtah breath sometime and need to stay in the AC.  maybe it's just because it's very humid that you feel that way, does it feel more comfortable in the cool AC?? i don't think it has nothing to do with the blood thinning or thickening.  it's just more stifling...

You are drinking alot of water so that should be okay. But I get sick in humidity even here in Minnesota. I try to sleep in a dark, cool area. I think us MMers have a harder time with weather. I can tell when it is going to rain or snow, by how nauses (sp?) (sick) I feel that day.
Good luck and stay cool.

hey, thanks for your prompt replies...

i can't stand A/C, that "recycled" air makes me feel sick, sleepy and more thirsty, but that's just a general preference for the outdoors, not an MM thing.... have been spending the whole week in a/c though at work... yuck... dunno.. FANS are fantastic though..

although Moira - i have an incredibly upset stomach today, the water filter at work broke and i was drinking tap water.... yuck..... still, i don't think we're quite onto recycled drinking water here, are we?? dunno... at least it rained today!! oh and I was always coming back to brisbane, i was only meant to be in melbs for a couple of months before i got stuck there...

bit annoying as i've got an appointment with a neuro up here in about a month, need to go educate a new GP on monday i think.. chances are they won't be much help though.. oh well..

hmm it does seem that us MMers have problems dealing with humidity.. i want a medical explanation though!!! hehe... might go research..

Good luck... Heat and humidity have been my downfall since the day I was born.
