Chiropractic?
Feb 13th, 2007 at 4:54pm

Has anyone heard anything about chiropractic treaments being contraindicated for people with MM (particularly adjustments to the neck)?
I used to get adjustments before my dx and it helped me quite a bit.  I have been gettting lots of headaches post-op (like lots of others) and would like to get adjusted to see if it will help (before I try meds).
I thought I read somewhere that we were more prone to dissection so we shouldn't get our necks adjusted.  Unfortunatley my memory sucks as of late and I don't know where I read it or if it actually pertains to MMD.  Any thoughts?

Somewhere along  my mm way, I was told not to choose chiropractic where they adjust your neck but it was all right for other areas (back, shoulders, etc.)  A few months before I had my stroke, I was seeing a chiropractor3X a month~~ not saying that's what caused my stroke but that's when I found out I have mm.  Maybe e-mail Teresa for ideas; possibly physical therapy or accupuncture would be alternatives?? deb

that's a good question, i'm currently seeing a DC myself 2x/wk just because my neck is not in the best shape.  looking from a anatomical position if you have a really good DC adjusting should bother the MM, because it is aligning the vertebre, but it may bother the site of cut of surgery.
best to ask you MD though, shucks i hope i won't have to stop, i love my chiro.
