Lurker here, getting ready for surgery
Apr 28th, 2007 at 7:38pm

Hi Everyone,
I have been "lurking" here ever since I was diagnosed in May of 2006 with Moyamoya after having a brain hemorrhage at work...after a lot of little setbacks, my surgery has finally been scheduled for Tuesday May 1st by doctor Curtis Doberstein at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence Rhode Island...I am from Massachusetts, right over the R. I. border...although I haven't read about Dr. Doberstein on these boards, everyone that I have spoken to in the medical field say he is the best in this area...he has been my nurologist since I had my hemmorrhage...I am thinking positive...I hope that will help with my recovery...Please keep me in your prayers....

Thanks,
Tia

Hi Tia, Smiley Welcome to our MM family!

Lurking or not, you’re family, so we're glad you posted so we can keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Keeping positive is always good, so along with our prayers, that’s a great start Tia. Good Luck on Tuesday, we'll be right there with you in spirit.

Please keep us posted.

Tia,

Oh sweetie, you are defintely in my thoughts and prayers! Wouldn't it be wonderful if somehow we could magically transport ourselves to every hospital and offer a big hug and smile to the Moyamoya patient waiting to go into surgery?

Heather and I have not had a chance to personally meet anyone on this site, but by reading everyone's story, sharing information and sending words of encouragement I know we are all connected in spirit.

Heather just found out today she will have her second EDAS on June 11, 2007 - 7:30am central standard time at Vanderbilt University Medical Center...Dr. Mercile will once again perform the surgery. We love and trust Dr. Mericle completely and know all will go well but I'd sure appreciate it if you could say a little prayer that day.

God bless,

Kimberly

Thanks Everyone,
I am getting ready to go to the hospital, my check in time is 10:30, I was hoping to be the first, but I guess I got bumped agian so now I am 3rd...I understand being bumped, I must have bumped someone when I had my hemorrhage  Smiley
I am having a EDAS on both sides the doctors are very confident, so that makes me feel better....getting very nervous right now  Shocked

Praying for everyone!
Tia
