I STILL HAVE A THYMUS!!
Nov 5th, 2007 at 11:55am

Have any of you heard of this before? I have been having some serious chest pains for quite a while now and I went to see a doc who ran some tests. At first they thought it was my heart with my history, but now I found out that I still have a thymus. The thymus is a gland located behind the sternum that assists the thyroids until you hit puberty. I definitely hit puberty about 9 years ago, so this is not normal!! But here here really is?!

I was just wondering if anyone has heard of this and if so, what happened?

Jess

Hey Jess,
Everybody has a thymus.  I had read that the thymus helps make red blood cells until puberty.  You can stimulate the thymus by tapping your chest in the center just below your clavicles.  Just not too hard.  I don't think your thymus ever goes away it just gets smaller.
