Oxygen?
Mar 18th, 2008 at 11:56am

Hi everyone.  It has been two years since my bypasses at Stanford.  I had SPECT's  about a month ago.  Things do not look good.  My doctor can't decide what to do with me.  She has been in contact with Drs. Steinberg and Scott.  I was put on 0xygen a little over a week ago.  I was wondering if anyone else is on oxygen full time?
    Thank you , MMnewtUt-----Natalie

Hi Natalie,
I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble. When I asked Teresa and Dr. Steinberg after my by-pass sugeries this Fall, if any patients had ever had the grafted arteries close, I was told it had happened only once to a man in his sixties. I sure hope that hasn't happened to you. I can imagine you must be terribly worried. These two doctors are the best - they're sure to come up with a fix.
Best wishes,
Kim

Hi,
I am not on oxygen, but I do have a mile low blood flow where the moyamoya is. I am sorry to hear about this. I am not alone and neither are you. I am here if you need to talk or someone to listen.

Lara

Robert used oxygen to abort the symptoms prior to surgery, We still keep it around incase, If the moyamoya is restricting blood flow to the brain and you Saturate the blood with O2 then your increasing the oxygen to the brain.

Hey everyone,
I am finally free from carrying around the oxygen tanks!  I haven't needed supplemental oxygen since Thursday of last week.  I guess it took my brain two months to right itself.  Thanks for all of the support! Cheesy
